Employee of the Month

Empower Cherokee will resume our Employee of the month program in January. If you would like to suggest an employee of the month please email heather.daily@empowercherokee.org and let us know who you think deserves the honor and why. We look forward to sharing the stories of all the great things Empower Cherokee Employees do to make a difference.

Winter and Illness

It's no secret that the number of people infected with COVID-19 is on the rise. Just like in years past, the winter season's colder temperatures push people indoors and into closer quarters and infection rates go up for flu, bronchitis, sinus infections, etc. Empower Cherokee understands that this means we have to be continually diligent about following CDC guidelines and the Empower Cherokee COVID-19 Guide for Phased Reopening. All staff has been reminded/retrained on the importance of the CDC guidelines, safety, and self-care. Empower Cherokee wants to remind families and caregivers that if you or anyone in your household has a contagious illness or suspects they might, please do not attend our programs until your household is well again. If we all work together we can continue to offer safe, fun, enriching programs for all who participate. Click below to review Empower Cherokee Covid Guidelines

Thank You For Helping Empower Cherokee Make the Holiday Season Special

Thank you to all who have donated money, gift cards, holiday decorations, food, and more. Thanks to the volunteer, employees, and board members who have stepped in, and stepped up during the holiday season.

With your assistance, Empower Cherokee has provided some very special extras to the people we support.

In November Empower Cherokee provided thanksgiving lunch for all people in services both currently and sheltering at home. These meals were provided on-site, via drive-through, and home delivery depending on the needs of the person supported. Additionally, the meals were provided to Empower Cherokee Employees via the same methods.

On Monday, December 7th Empower Cherokee celebrated an "Empowering Night of Lights" This Drive-through event featured an abundance of lights, characters, staff, board members, and Santa Clause, as well as a treat bag for each person to take home. The event was a wonderful COVID safe alternative to the Annual Christmas Covered Dish, which we hope to resume next year.
