Exciting News

Dear Families and Caregivers,

Empower Cherokee is pleased to announce that the month of July went very well and we enjoyed having so many participants back in our program. Given the experience over the past month, we are excited to move to the next phase of opening.

Starting August 3rd Empower Cherokee will be open Monday – Thursday for all who want to attend. We will remain closed on Friday for deep cleaning, debriefing, documentation, and training.

All participants are welcome to attend 4 days per week or the maximum number of days per week in the ISP if less than 4.

Guidelines

Empower Cherokee will continue to follow the guidelines in our Pandemic Planning and Response Guidelines linked below:

CATS

At this time there will be no changes to the CATS schedule. We are looking at some future revisions based on who is most in need and actually utilizing the service. If you were on the list to ride the CATS bus but you are not using the service, we will likely move to the next person on the waiting list. If you would like to be on the waiting list (and plan to attend if you are moved to a van) please let your DDP/Case Manager know and they will put you on the CATS List.

What Caregivers Need to do

  • If the person in your care is already attending and you are providing transportation:

    • Starting Monday, the person in your care can start attending up to 4 days.

  • If the person in your care is already attending and CATS is providing transportation:

    • CATS can continue to pick up on the scheduled days, however, if you want additional days the caregiver would need to provide transportation on those days.

  • If the person in your care has not been back since before COVID-19 please contact your Program Manager to notify them of plans to return.

The staff at Empower Cherokee solemnly wish that all participants in our program could return on August 3rd, however, we recognize that COVID-19 has created a number of barriers that prevent some participants from returning at this time.

Empower Choerkee is a resource for you even if you are not actively in the program. If there is anything we may be able to assist you with please don't hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing all of you when things get a bit more "back to normal".

Be safe and be well,
