Empower Cherokee Updates

Hi folks,

As you may have heard the state of Georgia is under a strict Shelter in Place order for the next couple of weeks, and schools are closed for the remainder of the school year.

I am not sure when we will all be able to get back together and go about our business as usual, but as of right now I am praying for June 1st.

In the interim, I would like to share a few opportunities with you:

1. I will be sending out another notice shortly about virtual music therapy. All participants are invited to join in on one or both of our two weekly half-hour virtual music therapy sessions starting very soon.

2. Weekly Hangout. Starting next week I will be setting up a standing Zoom conference for anyone who wants to join to hang out via Zoom Conferencing. I am hoping staff, families, caregivers, stakeholders, and of course, Empower Cherokee Service Recipients will join in on the conference. It will be set up as a drop-in for about an hour a week (more details to follow soon)

While we are physically separated right now we don't have to be socially isolated. Empower Cherokee is committed to continuing to find new and creative ways to connect with our stakeholders during this time so that we can maintain relationships that we have built and see faces we miss.

I look forward to providing more information on the opportunities I have mentioned above and hopefully others like it very soon.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay home.

Love and Miss You All,

Heather Daily
