Empower Cherokee is planning a special event for Monday December 7th that will be a COVID safe alternative to our traditional Christmas Covered Dish party. Empower Cherokee will be hosting its first ever Empowering Night of Lights open house drive through party.
We will celebrate the holidays, each other, and our resilience in a challenging year with, lots of lights, festive music, volunteers, people supported and their caregivers, community members, and a very special guest in red.
In order to do this successfully we need community support.
Please consider donating any of the following:
Outdoor holiday lights
Outdoor holiday decorations
Pre-lit Christmas trees
Holiday themed bags (for goodies to be handed out)
Holiday candy (prewrapped)
Holiday cookies (store bought - No homemade treats due to COVID safety concerns)
Gift cards in the amount of $5, $10, or $20 (gift for participants)
Volunteers Needed
We need volunteers to help the board of directors the night of the event. This event is for people receiving services, their families, and staff to enjoy a holiday evening, We prefer that no staff has to work during the event.
Thank you to AIMC for volunteering to set out decorations prior to the start of the event.
Other Information
Holiday decorations donated can be temporarily or permanently donated, in this case pre-used but in good working condition is also fine. If you want them back please tag them with your name, email, and phone number so that we can place them in a safe pile for pick up.
All items can be picked up the following day from 8am-4pm unless other arrangements are made.
More information about the event will be forthcoming, but save the date now for December 7th starting at dark.
Donations can be dropped of at either of our locations anytime between now and December 4th. Just let the program manager know what you are donating for.
